Clean water can heal thousands of people in the Amazon.
As we travel along the Amazon rivers, we face so many challenges and needs. One of the major ones is the lack of clean and drinkable water.
Many of the diseases the River people have to commonly fight against come from polluted water. Issues related to infectious diarrhea, cholera, leptospirosis, hepatitis and others are part of their struggles because they have no access to clean water.
We had been searching for a way to provide drinkable water to the families we encounter along the riverand recently we found an answer. Filters of Hope makes equipment that not only filters the water, but also purifies the water. It requires nothing more than a bucket. For places where they have no pipes, no electricity, these filters have been a great solution.
On our March trip, with Village Chapel (church out of Nashville, TN) we were able to distribute 6 of those filters. On the one hand, it brought us so much joy to know that probably a few dozen families were reached with clean water. However, the urge to provide for the other 30,000 villages is even greater now. We choose one family at a time.
You can help us! For only $50 you can provide clean water for 10 years for 3-4 families. After all shouldn’t every person have access to clean drinking water? Give a one time gift or set up an ongoing sponsorship.
